Will take place between 7th - 16th of July 2020.
WHAT IS IT?
This is the second of 3 modules to be delivered to the 9 DestiMED PLUS Pilot Actions and will take place between the 7th of July - 8th of September 2020. Module 2 will focus on developing the knowledge and tools necessary for the development of a MEET Ecotourism product within and around each pilot action's Protected Area.
This module was initially planned to take place as part of a two day face-to-face training in La Garrotxa Natural Park (Catalonia, Spain) in May. However, due to COVID19 project partners agreed to convert the training and deliver it online through Google Classroom.
WHO IS INVITED TO JOIN?
The target audience for this training is members of the Local Ecotourism Clusters (LEC) participating in the project in each of the pilot sites, including: protected area staff, Inbound Tour Operators (ITO) staff.
The activity will be overseen by the conservation and tourism authorities in the participating regions. Representatives of the Interreg MED Sustainable Tourism Community and the ENI CBC Med, along with MEET Network members will be invited to encourage the transference process.
The training will cover the following topics:
- Standard, Product and Target Market
- Product Experiences and Interaction with Tourists
- Ecotourism Product Itinerary Design
As this training will take place during the summer months, there will be a break after topic two. During which time the pilot actions will complete a summer homework activity. The training will then resume for a final webinar to review the summer homework and provide feedback.
At the end of the module students will also be assessed on their learnings and asked to provide feedback.
Finally, following the end of this module, each pilot action will participate in mentoring sessions with Book Green Travel in order to finalise their products by the beginning of November.
